Peter's been itching to use our lawnmower. We have sod but it'll be about 3 more weeks before the grass gets rooted down and we can mow. But this morning, Peter mowed our friend's mom's lawn who's house is about a block away.

He did really well for his first time, and he was able to practice maneuvering the mower around some tight spots. This afternoon, we were taking our (almost daily) walk around the neighborhood and kept passing by lots with really cool rocks. We've been wanting to do some landscaping and we thought these rocks would look great in our yard. Alot of them had fossils of shells, and others were large pieces of slate. So we ended up taking my truck and the handtruck to one of these lots and picked up a truckfull of rocks. One of the slate pieces was so big, Peter put in on the handtruck and then he sat on the tailgate of the truck dragging the handtruck along while I drove us home. Good thing it was only a couple of blocks away! I was so afraid he'd fall off that I had the 4way blinkers on the whole time and barely drove 2mph. Suffice it to say, I got Peter (and all the rocks) home safely.

we scattered some of them in front of the porch, but had so many rocks, we couldn't quite figure out what to do with all them.

so now the pathway to the house is lined with rocks. looks pretty cool, eh?
