Final pre-closing walkthrough!!!

Today we went through the pre-closing "Settlement" walkthrough. Boy do they have a bit of a list.

But, on the plus side, we did put the truck in the garage. Now all we need is an automatic garage opener.

The truck fits in the garage with about a foot in front of it, and about 5 feet behind. Just gotta hang a tennis ball so we don't have to worry about backing through the lower-level and it's all good.

We just had to try it out.

They painted the garage some time between 7:30pm last night and 8:45am this morning!

The cleaning crew has made the first pass...

Since the house has been constantly dirty with construction debris and mud, we haven't had much of a chance to really show some of the cooler bits of the house. Wednesday night, there was the first of 2-3 cleanings that the house gets before we close on 3-31-05. We went back to take some pictures of newly cleaned stuff...

Master Shower.

Check out that tub.

The faucet set looks very cool.

Also, thursday morning saw the arrival of the concrete crew...

We have a driveway now!

As well as a walkway to the front door, a front porch, a side step, and a back step.

Also, Janey said that I was a bit cruel with my thoughts on the purple door, so I toned them down a bit...

???

So, we had been going over to the other broadmore just to see what sort of stuff they picked. After seeing this purple door, I think that we are going to stop doing that now...

This fan helped seal that deal. Janey says that it reminds her of the "Beautifull Butterfly" that Heimlich turns into at the end of Bug's Life.

Sorry for the lack of updates...

But Hello (The network system that we use to post pictures) has been down and acting funky for the past few days. Seems to be up and stable for now... I back posted for Saturday's pictures and we are going up to the house later today, so be prepared for more pics this evening (If Hello is still working.)

After picking up Marcelle and Richard...

We went up to the house so they could see it, and we could check on the carpet situation. We knew that they were supposed to put it down on Friday. We went up to the house and...

Our Carpet is in!

And it's even the right color!!!

More electrical work

The Circuit breaker box is slowly filling up

It's being filled with breakers for LIGHTS!

The light in the breakfast nook.

The ceiling fan for the greatroom. (The installers have the reversing switch thrown. It runs backwards right now. Gotta have them reverse it back.)

This fan even looks cool from above.

You don't get much cooler than this light in the Master Bath.

This is another cool bathroom light. (This one lives in the upstairs hall bathroom)

Been lazy...

But now I have caught up on all the back updates. I back dated them so they are "posted" on the correct days. We didn't go up to the house today (March 16'th) but we are going to go up on March 17'th. So look for an update tomorrow evening!

Something new everyday...

These guys are really moving. We have been going everyday to see the new stuff.

Our front lights are installed.

Dining room chandelier (Who knows how to spell it really) is up.

The bathroom...

...mirrors have been installed.

Also the closet shelves (With the hanger rods being part of them) were installed. Typical stuff you find at Lowes or Home Despot. Couldn't get a good angle on them, so no pics. Vinyl coated wire stuff.

More finishwork is done.

While the door still isn't painted, our real doorlock sets are in!

The Tile is correct around the fireplace.

And Janey is very happy!

More stuff that could kill you...

I love looking at warning signs on appliances.

Our 75 (74??) gallon water heater...

Are you jealous, dad? 200amp service.

Appliances...

So, we already had ordered our oven through M/I homes because they had a good deal on GE stoves. But we still didn't line up the fridge or the dishwasher. There is a dishwasher that was standard, but we deleted that one. The fridge was purely extra, and we didn't like any of the GE fridges, so we didn't get one through M/I.

Here's what we got today. (For delivery on our closing date...):

For the Fridge. We got a kick-ass Kenmore Elite Trio.
This is a very cool fridge (pardon the pun) that has a full width drawer and the water-dispenser on the door, a pull out freezer drawer.

And for the dishwasher... We got another Kenmore product. It seems to be based off of a Whirlpool product. But with the addition of upgraded racks. And it was cheaper.

Still to get. Washer and Dryer set. Pretty sure that we are stuck on one of 2 models. Either the Kenmore He3T and it's matching dryer, or it's the new He4T washer and the same dryer.

We keep looking at the T model of the washers. That's because it spin-cycles at 1500rpm instead of the 900rpm of the standard model. That'll fling the dirt right through the clothes. Don't even need soap. Spin it right out. We didn't get those today as the washer/dryers will be at the Sears Outlet Center up in Columbus. They couldn't say if the fridge and the dishwasher would be there. And they said that it probably wouldn't.

Oops, their booboo.

I knew we didn't pick brown. We had to go to the design center to get a sample of the correct tile. Yes, we like greys and silvers.

Same texture, same size, same pattern. Different color.

At the design center, we took a picture with the sample of our carpet with the tile. So we would remember what the hearth is supposed to look like with the carpet in the greatroom

Better view of our sink and faucet. Nice. It already has an airgap installed. One less thing I have to go out and get to install our dishwasher.

It snowed a bit last night and the night before. Heck, it's snowing right now outside.

Dang these guys are moving FAST!

Linoleum is in for the kitchen.

Did we pick a BROWN tile?

The plumber has been back. We have faucets.

and sinks and counter-tops in the bathrooms

This is in the downstairs powder-room.

We like this sink/faucet combination. That was actually one of our easiest choices during the design center day.

I really don't think that we picked this brown for our hearth.

Hey, Honey, were these doors here yesterday?

Hey, Honey, were these doors here yesterday?

The fireplace looks different too...

Now I know that there's something new in this picture...

WOOHOO! Cabinets!!!

More cabinets (master bath)

The cabinet in the upstairs hall bath.

Check out all these drawers and pullouts.

This is next to the Fridge space.

The lazy susan cabinet has the door attached to the turn-around. No cabinet doors to bang into other cabinets... ;)

Things are moving so fast that we are going up tomorrow and during the weekend. Can't wait to see what they install tomorrow...
